Charlotte Campbell-broad
Associate Tutor-
Hi! I’m Charlotte, a science tutor and PhD researcher studying Pathology and the Gut Microbiome.
As a passionate scientist and educator, I encourage students to understand the principles behind what they are learning, make connections to their world and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar questions. I create sessions where students build confidence and resilience in their own abilities by feeling comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and exploring ideas independently.
I take time to adapt my explanations and teaching style to suit each student’s individual needs and learning goals, providing structure and clear expectations to develop effective revision and exam techniques.
Through achieving a First Class BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc by Research in Molecular Medicine, I have developed a strong academic foundation and gained experience teaching students from GCSE level through to university and professional education. I particularly enjoy sharing my enthusiasm for science and helping students see the possibilities that their studies can open up. My goal is for students to leave sessions not only better prepared for their exams, but genuinely more curious, capable and confident in their subject.Description text goes here

Hello! My name is Karen de la Cruz, and I am an experienced educator, economist, and MBA graduate with a passion for helping students develop confidence, strengthen their understanding, and achieve their academic goals.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Economics with Honours from Universidad del Pacífico, one of Peru's leading universities, and an MBA with Distinction from Hult International Business School in Dubai. I am currently completing a Master's degree at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, which has further enriched my international academic experience and my understanding of students from diverse backgrounds.
For more than six years, I have taught and supported students at university level as both an Undergraduate and Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics at Universidad del Pacífico. During this time, I supported students in subjects including Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Corporate Finance, and related quantitative disciplines. I consistently received excellent student evaluations and particularly enjoyed helping students overcome challenges, build confidence, and discover that complex subjects can become much more manageable with the right guidance.
In addition to my university teaching experience, I worked as a Financial Education Analyst and Lecturer at Peru's securities market regulator. In this role, I designed and delivered educational seminars, workshops, and lectures for university students, investors, entrepreneurs, and members of the public. In 2022 alone, I contributed to training more than 800 participants through lectures and educational programmes. This experience strengthened my ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, adapt to different learning needs, and make learning engaging and accessible.
As a tutor, I understand that every student learns differently. Some students need help building strong foundations, while others are preparing for important exams or aiming to improve their grades and confidence. My approach is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student's individual needs. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into simple, understandable steps and creating a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their skills.
My main tutoring areas include Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Studies, Finance, and Quantitative Methods. I also enjoy supporting students in developing independent thinking, study skills, and effective learning strategies.
Having studied in Dubai and currently living and studying in the United Kingdom, I particularly enjoy working with students from different cultural and educational backgrounds. I believe that learning should be engaging, rewarding, and empowering. Whether a student is preparing for an important examination, working towards higher grades, or simply looking to build confidence in a subject, my goal is to help them reach their full potential and enjoy the learning process along the way.

“I'm currently in my third year of my medical degree at the University of Leeds. I have been tutoring online for the past year and have taught English and Maths at GCSE level. This has given me a lot of experience in adapting my lessons and changing how I approach different subjects with different children. I also spent my summer working on a summer camp in Canada teaching children to rock climb, so I have lots of experience planning engaging lessons and interacting with a range of different personalities and learning styles. I absolutely love working with children and helping them achieve!”

“I’m a second year medical student at the University of Leeds. At A-Level I took Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and achieved A*AA. Although I study the sciences, I consider myself a creative person, and I love to incorporate this into the subjects I teach. I worked at Harrow International School Hong Kong for a year, before starting university. I’ve always enjoyed tutoring, and am looking to pursue a career in medical education. My main goal when tutoring my pupils, is to share my enthusiasm for the subject, in the hope that this will rub off on them, and help them achieve their best.”
